Last updated: March 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AppVideoStudio collects, uses, stores, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information when you use the website, app, billing flows, and related services.

Quick Privacy Summary

  • We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.
  • Users retain ownership of content they create, including for commercial use, subject to the Terms of Service.
  • Under the Terms of Service, users grant AppVideoStudio a broad license to use provided content for business purposes, including service operation, improvement, marketing, advertising, case studies, portfolio use, and publication across channels.

1. Who We Are

AppVideoStudio is currently operated as an independent project, owned and operated by Andrew Dear. References to "AppVideoStudio", "we", "us", or "our" refer to the operator of this service.

2. Jurisdiction and Territorial Use

This service is operated from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. By using the service, you agree that your use must comply with the laws and requirements that apply to you in your location and with the rules in our Terms of Service. If your local rules conflict with these terms and policies, do not use the service.

3. Information We Collect

  • Account and identity data: email address from Google sign-in and account identifiers needed to manage your account and subscription.
  • Billing and subscription data: plan, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, payment/subscription status, and related billing metadata.
  • Preferences and legal-consent data: email preference choices (promotional, product updates, policy updates) and terms acceptance timestamps.
  • Technical and usage data: device/browser details, IP-related network data, logs, event telemetry, and diagnostic/security data that may be collected by us or our service providers.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage, and similar tracking technologies used for operations, analytics, diagnostics, marketing, fraud prevention, and product improvement.

4. Local Project Content by Default

By default, project media and project composition data created in the editor are stored locally in your browser (for example, IndexedDB/local storage) and are not automatically uploaded to our servers solely to provide local editing functionality.

You remain responsible for your own backups and local device security.

5. How We Use Information

  • To provide and operate the service, including authentication, account access, feature entitlements, billing, and subscription lifecycle management.
  • To communicate with you about your account, transactions, support, product changes, service notices, security matters, and policy/legal updates.
  • To analyze usage, measure performance, detect abuse/fraud, troubleshoot issues, and improve the service, website, and conversion flows.
  • To market and promote the service, where permitted by applicable law and your preferences.
  • To enforce our Terms, protect rights and safety, and satisfy legal/compliance obligations.

6. User Content License and Use

As described in our Terms of Service, you retain ownership of your content, but you grant AppVideoStudio a broad license to use your content for business purposes, including operating and improving the service, and for marketing, advertising, case studies, portfolio use, and publication across websites, social media, and other channels.

You represent that you have all required rights and permissions for content you provide.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share information with third-party providers and partners that support our operations, including payment processors, authentication providers, hosting/CDN providers, analytics providers, messaging providers, customer-support tooling, and security/fraud vendors. These providers may change over time.

Examples include Stripe, Google OAuth, and Cloudflare, among others. Listing examples does not limit our ability to use other providers that support the service.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, detect/prevent fraud or abuse, protect rights/safety, or in connection with a business transaction.

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.

8. Communications and Preferences

You can control promotional and product-update email preferences through account settings where available. We may still send transactional, operational, legal, security, and policy-related notices when needed, even if certain marketing preferences are turned off.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep information for as long as needed for service operations, billing/subscription administration, support, security, dispute handling, legal compliance, and enforcement of our Terms.

You may request deletion through in-product account deletion flows where available. Deletion may include cancellation of active subscriptions and removal of stored account-related records maintained by us, subject to technical, contractual, and legal constraints.

10. International Processing

Your information may be processed in jurisdictions other than your own by us or our providers. By using the service, you understand and agree that such cross-border processing may occur.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Eligibility and Minors

The service is intended only for users who are legally permitted to enter binding agreements and to maintain paid subscriptions/payment instruments in their jurisdiction. If you do not meet these requirements, do not use the service.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes are effective when posted, unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the revised policy.
